The "Red Queen" book series and identity

Hey guys, my name is Gabriela and today i'm going to talk about this book series and its relationship with the concept of identity.

The Red Queen is a famous fantasy book series written by Victoria Aveyard, and  i'm going to explain why this series is so related with the theme of identity.

 §  The storyline

The storyline is the first thing that comes to mind when you relate this series to the identity theme. The world they live in is heavily divided in two social classes, the Silver-blooded people and the Red-blooded people. The Silver-blooded people were gifted with special abilities, like superpowers, and they are considered superior to the Red-blooded people, who don't have any abilities. The main character, Mare Barrow, has always been considered a Red, but she discovers she has the power to control eletricity,  which is something never seen before. The Silver elite forces her to hide her true identity, and as the story goes on, she goes on a self-discovering journey, where she learns more about her powers and discovers that more people like her exist. The Reds, eventually, start a rebellion, and fight hard to have their identities and their importance to society recognized by the Elite.

§ The characters

The book shows us how each character develops and changes according to the things that happen, creating their own identity in a unique way. The book also tells the story from the point of view of different characters, which helps us understand their opinions and thoughts.

  1. wow! I never read this book but it reminds me of Avatar's story (I don't know if it makes sense) but they also had to hide their powers and identity until they improved them and it was the right time to use
