Pedro González López, better known as Pedri, is a Spanish midfielder for Barcelona and for his country at international competitions. At the age of 22, he is for sure, one of the most talented players of his generation, he’s the one who can stop the time, a magic player. He’s shown a level of maturity, vision, patience and technical ability that any player in the world has achieved at this time.

Pedri's football intelligence is among his most remarkable characteristics. While many young players are still schooling, his footballing IQ has already reached elite levels. His peripheral vision allows him to make exceptional passes and decisions, he can turn nothing into something and can link the play with incredible ease. 

His ability to read the game elevates the performances of anyone around him, as he is invaluable to both Barcelona's midfield and Spain's national team. His dribbling ability is yet another element which makes him stand out. Despite being on the smaller side, Pedri can dance in-between defenders and is composed when pressed. His playstyle reminds me a lot of Iniesta and Xavi, he is like a mix of these goated players. His dribble is it is not flashy or for show, but a means to get him behind the defensive line, and is purposeful.

 Pedri's best trait is being a playmaker. Whether playing through balls or setting the time, Pedri is the conductor of Barcelona's attacking play, and he dictates pace opportunities for his teammates. He’s also improving his defensive skills under Hansi Flick, he’s the player with most ball recoveries in the top 5 leagues.  He is quickly becoming a leader for Spain as he continues to play with maturity and composure.

He’s a very underrated player and  this season he’s shining even more, so he’s proving his haters wrong. He does not need good numbers to prove he is a wolrd class player, because nowadays people think that you need it to be considered one of the best in the world. People just need to watch him realize how great he is. 

Pedri has an incredible future ahead of him. His skill set is still developing, but with his application and mentality, he has the potential to take his game to new heights. As he continues to improve, there is no doubt that he has the potential to be one of the best players of his generation and usher in a new era of football. We are certainly watching the development of a true legend of the sport.
